ENVIRONMENT: Minimizing climate impact across our operations
WE STRIVE FOR TRANSPARENCY ON OUR CLIMATE IMPACT
We track and monitor our energy use across our offices as well as the share of renewables in our energy mix. We are still in the phase of creating initial transparency on our emissions. We have estimated the GHG impact of our in-house operations (scopes 1 + 2), and we will also work on documenting the indirect emissions caused by emissions throughout our value chain (scope 3).
WE STRIVE TO REDUCE OUR COMPANY'S CARBON FOOTPRINT
Across our offices, we have switched to more energy efficient appliances, and we always prioritize renewables when sourcing energy. To us, it is common sense to take all the steps possible – even the minor ones such as switching to LED lighting – to reduce our carbon footprint.
However, the greatest impact we can make is through the design and production of products, and in logistics, so that we can help our customers and their customers minimize their environmental impact (see also this section ‘Minimizing the lifecycle impact of our products’).
WE MINIMIZE THE IMPACT OF LOGISTICS
We recognize that our logistics also play a role in reducing the environmental impact of our business. Minimizing the impact of logistics has always been highly prioritized. For years, we have advocated for internet operators and ISPs to discard glossy packages with a high environmental impact. We routinely use recycled brown cardboard boxes for our products. Today, 98 percent of our products are shipped in these.
