Head of Development
At Icotera, we're shaping the future of fibre connectivity across Europe. As we scale our product portfolio and teams, we’re looking for a Head of Development to lead the execution of high-quality, on-time software delivery across our internal engineering teams and global development partners.
This is a unique opportunity to take charge of an established, high-performing department and play a pivotal role in delivering secure, scalable, and innovative CPE and FTTH solutions trusted by leading ISPs.

Requirements
- Proven experience leading cross-functional software teams (30+ FTEs) in a complex delivery environment
- A high-level understanding of embedded software, C development, and CI/CD tooling
- Experience with agile-inspired but pragmatic delivery models for embedded/system-level software
- Track record of delivering complex projects with stable output and measurable improvements
- Strong capability in managing external or offshore development teams
- Familiarity with ICT operations, internal tooling, and process governance
- Telecom, Wi-Fi, prplOS, OpenWRT and FTTH industry experience is a significant plus
- Fluency in English and Polish

Responsabilities
- Lead and grow a department of 35+ Software Developers, TQA, Software Project Managers, DevOps and ICT
- Own and optimise delivery performance — ensuring we meet quality, cost, and schedule goals
- Manage external/offshore development partners and drive effective collaboration
- Define and implement delivery KPIs, reporting standards, and quality metrics
- Continuously improve delivery workflows, team structure, and tooling practices
- Drive consistency in documentation, validation processes, and test automation
- Work closely with Project Managers and Product stakeholders to ensure execution aligns with business objectives
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Report on delivery progress and team effectiveness directly to the CTO and executive leadership
